McDonald's Is Finally Adding Its Better-Tasting Lemonade To Nationwide Menus
Back in March 2023, McDonald's performed a test run on a new formula for its lemonade, but only in select locations around the country. Customers who were lucky enough to try it out soon embraced the modern recipe, to the point where the Golden Arches has decided to give it a permanent place on the menu. Starting April 8, this new lemonade will be available nationwide in all McDonald's locations.
The lemonade folks are used to ordering with their freshly cooked McDonald's hamburger was previously supplied by Minute Maid, and although the fast food chain will continue to offer orange juice from the beverage supplier, the newest edition to the McD's menu is made with real lemon juice. The recipe also includes bits of lemon pulp, genuine sugar cane, and natural flavors. Minute Maid's product featured high-fructose corn syrup as a sweetener, as well as some other occasionally controversial artificial ingredients like Yellow 5. The contemporary formula is considered a significant upgrade by many folks, but others aren't convinced it will be all that different from the previous offering.
What people are saying about McDonald's new lemonade
Just over a year ago, on the subreddit r/McDonaldsEmployees, some folks who tried the newest beverage at McD's gave the drink rave reviews. One person commented, "I'm obsessed. Best drive through lemonade, hands down," while another wrote, "Coming from someone who usually hates PULP [...] it is SOO good!!" Many others chimed in with similar sentiments.
Still, not everyone thinks the most recent menu addition is anything special. Some commenters described the only difference between the contemporary lemonade and the old Minute Maid product as "The price," and "About seven letters and a space." Cynical observations aside, the timing of McDonald's latest release couldn't be better. With summer just around the corner, the company is sure to be slinging its new lemonade to thirsty patrons who are looking for a break from the heat. Being a permanent menu item as opposed to McDonald's latest limited-time Minecraft-related offer, folks won't have to feel like they are missing out if they don't get a chance to stop by right away to try it out.
