The Costco Bakery's Limited Sweet Roll Flavor Shoppers Want To See In Their Warehouses
The teeming masses of Costco social media devotees are all abuzz after a few months of seeing yummy-looking sweet rolls that are apparently only available in specific regions. Since last fall, we've been getting reports of tempting Mayorca Suprema rolls in Hawaiian Costco locations (and, just maybe, a couple other U.S.-based places). Costco consistently delivers desserts that slap, from its premium-priced chocolate peanut butter pie to delicious sheet cakes that can be dressed up for a wedding, but these elusive, fruity sweet rolls have Costco fans ready to ascend from jealous excitement.
User costcohotfinds posted a seconds-long tease of the enigmatic new dessert, which consists of tender yeast rolls slathered with guava paste and Danish icing. They come in a pan of 12 rolls and are selling for $8.99. Per the sign posted over the display, there is also an orange option. According to commenters on the Instagram post and other social media forums, the Mayorca Suprema Rolls are apparently currently only for sale in the Aloha State. However, they have also reportedly been spotted at Costco warehouses in Puerto Rico, where they carry a much smaller price tag of $3.99. Some commenters have also written that they've seen the rolls in South Florida Costco stores. Still, restricted access hasn't stopped the online Costco fan community from going gaga for the guava (and orange) rolls.
Mayorca Suprema rolls have Costco fiends whipped into a frenzy
"California is calling and we would like some too, please," one commenter on the Instagram post pleaded. "I'll take three," another joked. Meanwhile, on Reddit, yet another non-Hawaiian user sighed, "Wow that looks amazing. I wish we could get that on the mainland." Those who have actually tried the rolls confirm that they are just as magical as the pictures imply. On TikTok, one user lucky enough to be in Hawaii gushed, "I wish you could smell these. They smell incredible!" And, on X, Puerto Rican users called the rolls "una tentación" and admitted that they didn't last even three days once they were brought home.
We previously ranked Costco's holiday desserts from worst to best, and we're always keeping a keen eye on new bombshells in the villa ... um, we mean "bakery department." These sweet, gooey treats graced with tropical fruit and cream definitely fit the bill. It's unknown at this point whether the Mayorca Suprema rolls will go wide in terms of Costco distribution, especially given that it has been over half a year and they haven't made it to the contiguous United States. Perhaps, if Costco higher-ups are paying attention to the flood of positive comments, they might do just that. If that ever happens, it's clear that the confectionary-crazed denizens of Costco Nation will be lined up to try them out.
