How To Score An Aldi Golden Ticket

Opening a new store location is a big deal for any company, but when Aldi has a grand opening, it makes things extra special for its customers. Whereas many businesses host a ribbon-cutting ceremony and call it a day, the discount retailer generates some added excitement about the event in the form of gift cards called Golden Tickets. The promotion helps the store attract an audience on day one and gives some folks the opportunity to save even more on Aldi's cheap meat and other discounted merchandise.

All you have to do to score a Golden Ticket is be one of the first 100 people to show up at a new Aldi location's grand opening, and when the store opens its doors to the public for the first time, you can walk in with extra savings in the palm of your hand. However, some terms and conditions need to be followed to be eligible. You must live within 50 miles of the new Aldi venue and be at least 18 years old. Only one person per household is eligible to receive a Golden Ticket, and they cannot be used in conjunction with other discount offers. If you are lucky enough to be one of the recipients of a gift card, hang onto it tight because Aldi will not replace lost or stolen cards.

What is an Aldi Golden Ticket worth?

Before anyone receives a Golden Ticket, Aldi issues a laminated card to the first 100 customers in line for the grand opening with a number from 1 to 100 printed on it. Once inside the store, cardholders exchange their laminated number for a Golden Ticket in one of three denominations randomly selected by the store. Out of the 100 Golden Tickets the supermarket disperses during a grand opening, 70 are worth $10, 20 are good for $25, and 10 lucky participants will walk away with a $100 gift card they can use to fill their cart with some of the best products Aldi has to offer.

Nine states are slated for new discount stores soon. These include Alabama, Florida (home to more Aldi locations than any other state), Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Aldi is continuing toward its goal of opening 800 new locations by 2028, so no matter where you reside, there is a chance you could be in a position to snag a Golden Ticket yourself before you know it.
