You'll Now Be Able To Buy These Popeyes Items At Grocery Stores

Attention, fellow dunkers and dippers: this is not a drill. Your favorite sauces from Popeyes are coming to select retail grocery stores starting March 15th and your nuggets, tenders, and french fries are never going to be the same. At the drive-thru, you've experienced Popeyes' famous fried chicken, which the chain fries in a unique fat, but you've likely had to settle for small servings of its oh-so-scrumptious sauces and hoard any extras for future consumption. The rationing ends this week.

The first two sauces in the line-up will be 18-ounce bottles of Blackened Ranch and Sweet Heat, with Mardi Gras Mustard coming later this spring to a select slate of stores, as per an email shared with Foodie. Retailers carrying the Popeyes sauce line include heavy hitters like Albertsons, Food Lion, Kroger, and Walmart, as well as online retailer Amazon. We're already daydreaming about all the ways we can use these sauces for dousing and smothering our favorite foods. Everyone has their particular favorites among fast food condiments, but we've always thought that Popeyes sauces were something special.

Get to know the flavors of the Popeyes sauces

You can already buy Chick-fil-A Sauce, with its inimitable list of ingredients, on the supermarket shelf. On the other hand, Starbucks' sriracha can't be found at grocery stores. We're so glad that Popeyes is making the move into retail because sometimes you want to get your dip on without waiting in a drive-thru line! Blackened Ranch is a buttermilk-based ranch enriched with "a savory blackened seasoning blend" that will put you in mind of Cajun flavors. Sweet Heat is heavy on the honey, with a fiery kick coming from Aleppo pepper sauce. Mardi Gras Mustard, for its part, is Creole-inspired with creamy mustard and spicy horseradish.

Popeyes has its roots in Louisiana, which means that it's no surprise to see a touch of Cajun and Creole zing in its sauces. There are now over 3,800 locations the world over, with patrons flocking to scoop up zesty fried chicken, buttermilk biscuits, down-home sides, and sweet tea to wash it all down. We're betting that, with Popeyes' brand-new bottled condiments, even the most basic and humdrum frozen chicken nugget is going to pop off like it's Fat Tuesday. Could Honey Lemon Pepper and Bayou Buffalo be far behind? BRB, manifesting these bottles into existence.
