The Starbucks Drinks That Are Leaving Menus In March

While some people enjoy sampling every drink on Starbucks' menu, most folks have a routine that involves ordering their favorite go-to staples. The Green Mermaid (well, actually she's a siren) is well aware of what sells and what doesn't. As part of an effort to simplify the business, Starbucks will soon be eliminating 13 less-popular drinks from the menu. If any of the drinks listed here happen to be favorites of yours, you have until March 4 to get them before they are gone for good.

Over half of the axed beverages are variations of the chain's Frappuccino. In an email to Foodie, Starbucks said that the Espresso Frappuccino and Caffè Vanilla Frappuccino will both exit the menu on March 4, as will the Java Chip Frappuccino and White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino. A Coffee Frappuccino can be made to mimic the former two, and if you are going to miss the latter couple of drinks, a Mocha Frappuccino would be a close alternative.

Five more fraps taking a bow on March 4 are the Chai Crème Frappuccino, Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino, Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino, Chocolate Cookie Crumble Crème Frappuccino, and White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino. Some of these drinks can be pleasantly substituted with the Vanilla Bean Frappuccino, which will stay on the menu. Others might be better swapped for the Strawberry Frappuccino with fruity berry flavors mixed with the taste of cream. The other beverages taking their leave from Starbucks will be the Iced Matcha Lemonade, Royal English Breakfast Latte, Honey Almondmilk Flat White, and the White Hot Chocolate.

Axed beverages make way for Starbucks innovations

Starbucks notes that many of the disappearing drinks can be mimicked by others; for instance, the London Fog Latte has a similar floral character to the soon-to-be-gone Royal English Breakfast Latte. As for the overall changes, Starbucks states that it is cleaning house on its beverage menu to help reduce customer wait times and heighten the quality and consistency of each drink made. On top of eliminating 13 beverages on March 4, the company plans to reduce the food and beverage menu about 30% by the end of 2025. However, Starbucks isn't only taking things away. Simplifying the menu affords the business an opportunity to devise new and exciting beverages like the boba tea drinks it released last summer.

The recently released cortado has been a hit for the coffee giant, and the new spring menu features a cherry twist on iced chai. Last year, Starbucks released modern lavender beverages along with its St. Patrick's Day Frappuccino, and those are also slated to make a return soon. By focusing on the premium handcrafted Starbucks drinks folks enjoy the most, Starbucks may have more opportunities to wow us with creativity and innovation in the coming months.
