A Birthday-Themed Dessert Is Hitting Taco Bell Menus
Just yesterday, we covered the news that KFC was leaving Kentucky for a new corporate headquarters in Texas, right next door to its Yum! Brands sister company, Taco Bell. Today, it's time for some sweet news from our favorite Tex-Mex drive-thru: the Bell is teaming up with innovative dessert company Milk Bar to create stuffed churros that will turn your next fast food snack attack into a full-fledged celebration. One short day before Taco Bell's birthday, we received an email from the company spilling the details on the new Milk Bar Birthday Cake Churros, which will come in packs of either one or two.
Taco Bell has been slaying with the limited-time offers lately. We're still slightly salty that the tortilla-crusted chicken nuggets and Hidden Valley Ranch dipping sauces went away so fast, but filled churros are a nice consolation prize. A mouthwatering press release described the treats as having "nostalgic birthday cake frosting inside two, warm and crispy churros topped with confetti sprinkles to bring fans a party in every bite." Just that description is enough to have us breaking out the corny paper hats and balloons, because the only thing better than a normal churro is a churro bursting with creamy frosting.
Milk Bar and Taco Bell have teamed up before
Christina Tosi, chef and founder of NYC-based Milk Bar, stated that "we were beyond excited when our friends at Taco Bell asked us if we were game to collab on another dessert to turn everyday moments into celebrations." In case you missed it, Milk Bar and Taco Bell worked together on the Strawberry Bell Truffle back in 2022, which featured yummy nuggets of strawberry milk-soaked cake enrobing a strawberry-and-sweet-corn cream filling, all rolled in a dusting of Taco Bell's crunchy taco shells. Back then, Tosi called a Taco Bell collab a "bucket list item." The offbeat, scrumptious bites inspired a second team-up, and the birthday churros were born.
Look, we love birthday cake, but baking cakes is a process fraught with potential mistakes that could end in major disappointment. On the other hand, picking up birthday cake churros without leaving our car? Count us in! You can purchase one churro for $1.99 or two for $2.99, meaning that adding this snack won't put a dent in your takeout budget. As ever, the LTO is available only at participating Taco Bell locations for an undefined limited time, so you'd better try them while the opportunity lasts. Plus, if you're in the Big Apple, you can swing by Milk Bar's flagship shop in the East Village to sample its Churro Birthday Cake Truffles inspired by the Taco Bell treat.
