Here's What Will Be Served In The $2 Million Super Bowl Suites
When Taylor Swift takes to her VIP suite at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans to watch her beau Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday, she'll be eating in style ... Big Easy style, that is. While us humble viewers at home are busy downing over a billion chicken wings during the broadcast, the in-person attendees will be feasting on Cajun-inspired eats that combine the luxe vibes of America's biggest night in sports with the down-home culinary comfort that only the Deep South can serve up.
People reports that Sodexo Live! is the hospitality company behind both the Super Bowl concessions menu and the spread for the luxury suites. Its national executive chef, Carmen Callo, told People that creating the bill of fare involved "marrying the Cajun, the Creole, the French, the southern ... [the] global melting pot that makes New Orleans so special."
While all fans at the game will have the opportunity to dine on elevated po'boys and Cajun brisket sandwiches, suite guests like Swift will be served high-end steaks and some maritime goodies that present the very best catches of Louisiana's storied seafood industry.
King cake, tomahawk steaks, and seafood towers are on the menu
Behind the doors of the VIP suites, high-rollers like Taylor Swift will be treated to succulent tomahawk steaks that have the Super Bowl LIX logo branded on the bone, eye-popping seafood towers, and bespoke sushi displays crafted in the shape of "LIX" in honor of the game's 59th anniversary. Swift's favorite food may be chicken tenders, but we can't help but wonder how she takes her steak! The food, settled upon after multiple testings between Sodexo Live! and the NFL, is intended to look as good as it tastes, says chef Callo. Swift and her suitemates will, of course, also have access to the special concessions that the hoi polloi — who are still dropping at least three grand per ticket — can buy on the concourse.
While curious Midwesterners might have tried fried alligator at county fairs, this bayou protein will be presented as sausages on French bread. Three types of po'boys will be available for purchase, including a surf-and-turf version containing Gulf shrimp and smoked short rib. In honor of Mardi Gras, slices of king cake will also be for sale. Attendees can wash it down with a loaded Bloody Mary stacked with pepperoncini, spicy green beans, and okra, or a bespoke Black Magic cocktail featuring mango puree and jalapeño syrup. No matter who wins the game Sunday night, it's a safe bet that fans of both teams will be well-fed when the confetti falls.
