Totino's Super Bowl 2025 Ad Finally Sends An Old Friend Home
America's most-watched sporting event is just around the corner, with fans not only in store for a clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles but also a host of entertaining television commercials everyone will be talking about the next day. We already know that Bud Light will air a hilarious take on cul de sac parties featuring Shane Gillis and Post Malone, while Coors' Super Bowl ad displays how sloth-like people will feel the day after the game, but game-day advertisements aren't entirely dominated by beverages. On February 9, Totino's will air an ad encouraging people to grab some Totino's Pizza Rolls with a sendoff of sorts for an old friend.
The television spot will star comedians Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson saying goodbye to an extraterrestrial named Chazmo in a commercial titled "Chazmo Finally Goes Home." As the little furry alien waves goodbye just inside the doorway of his ship, Chazmo experiences a mishap as the doors to his spacecraft shut prematurely, smushing him into a painfully comical pose. The comedic duo attempts to keep things light for the distraught children nearby as they snack on the well-known Totino's product. The adorable subject of misfortune is sure to spark conversations about the alien on Monday, but some folks don't know that this commercial isn't Chazmo's first rodeo.
The Totino's Super Bowl ad isn't Chazmo's on-air debut
Some folks may wonder why the title of the commercial includes the word "finally," as though Chazmo has attempted to get home before. That's because, last fall, Robinson and Richardson introduced folks to Chazmo when the comedians played suburban dads who discovered the alien had befriended their kids and had an appetite for their pizza rolls. He didn't quite make it home in his debut, so he had to be given another chance in Totino's latest advertisement.
When the commercial airs during the Super Bowl on February 9, it will be the first time Totino's has ever aired an ad amidst the big game. It will also mark the first time Totino's parent company, General Mills, has sprung for a game day advertisement in over a decade. On a day destined to be filled with entertaining ads like Instacart's Super Bowl gem featuring famous brand mascots, Totino's is hoping Chazmo can stand up to the competition and leave a lasting impression on viewers.
