Shaboozey's Super Bowl Ad Is A Burst Of Sunshine And Nerds

What's a good Super Bowl ad without a celebrity guest? So far in the 2025 pre-game lineup, we've seen Adam Brody and a team of mustachioed friends shilling for Pringles and Martha Stewart playing "we listen and we don't judge" alongside Charli XCX on behalf of Uber Eats. Now, singer-songwriter megastar Shaboozey, the honeyed voice behind the viral smash "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," is starring in a sugary-sweet commercial for NERDS Gummy Clusters candy.

The ad is expected to air in the third quarter of the Super Bowl, as per an email to Foodie. It features sunny, colorful imagery that will put a spring in your step and a smile on your face with vibes as bright as NERDS Gummy Clusters themselves. Expect to see a lovable giant Gummy, hear a toe-tapping cover of "What a Wonderful World," and witness tons of anthropomorphized candy, all set against the irresistible background of New Orleans.

Shaboozey's commercial is sweet as can be

The ad opens on Shaboozey walking down the street on a sunny day in New Orleans. He snacks from a bag of NERDS Gummy Clusters and takes a bite, sparking the stirring strains of the song (which Shaboozey is covering, of course) and the appearance of Gummy, an immense pink blob. The smiling Gummy is leading a marching band, which attracts the attention of the animated NERDS characters in the vicinity, and transforming the look of the neighborhood (and Shaboozey's clothes) as they go.

Happy people in colorful clothing line the streets and hang over the balconies of rainbow-hued buildings, creating scenes that are drenched in vibrant shades and which complement the colorful candy. Shaboozey's deep, gorgeous voice and the brassy accompaniment of the band turn the Louis Armstrong standard, "What a Wonderful World," into something jazzy, inescapably optimistic, and irresistible. Simply put, the ad just leaves a smile on your face — much like a bite of yummy candy. We're predicting a high placement on the ranking of the best Super Bowl commercials (just like last year's).
