Halo Top Is Sadly Discontinuing Over 10 Ice Cream Flavors In 2025
A midweek email from Foodie's sweet friends at Halo Top put a bit of a sour note on our day. The purveyors of light ice cream just told us that it will be saying goodbye to a whole slew of its yummy, lower-calorie treats, ranging from pints to pops. Whether you prefer ice cream or gelato (if you can even tell the difference), Halo Top has long provided a dessert option for those keeping an eye on calories.
To that end, Halo Top is saying goodbye to a plethora of pints. For sorbets, the Mango, Strawberry, and Raspberry varieties are all going away. From the Keto Series, it's lights out on Caramel Butter Pecan, Chocolate Caramel Lava Cake, and Peanut Butter Chocolate. Several Dairy Pints are getting the axe as well, including Candy Bar, Chocolate Cake Batter, Caramel Macchiato, Oatmeal Cookie, and Red Velvet. In addition, all flavors of Halo Top's Fruit Pops and Yogurt Pops will be leaving your grocer's freezer case, along with select Dairy Pops (Strawberry Swirl, Chocolate Fudge, and Sea Salt Caramel) and the Peanut Butter Chocolate variety of Keto Pops.
Halo Top may appear to be getting rid of a lot of flavors, but it is rolling out some exciting new products that may make you forget about departing favorites. As Ryan Roznowski, Halo Top's Director of Brand Marketing said, "Like any good ice cream shop, we at Halo Top are always working on new flavors we think our fans will love. Sometimes, for those new options to make it onto store shelves, we have to replace flavors that just aren't as popular as they once were."
You say goodbye, I say hello ... to new Halo Top ice cream flavors
As part of its self-avowed "commitment to indulgence with fewer calories," Halo Top is swinging into 2025 with no fewer than eight new flavors. The big selling point behind these pints is that they include a bounty of mix-ins and boast only 490 calories per container. This makes them a lighter option for making the viral TikTok ice cream nachos or just nomming straight from the carton. It makes sense when you consider that some of the heaviest hitters in the ice cream flavor wars, like Rocky Road or Cookies and Cream, feature mix-ins. It will be intriguing to see what Halo Top is bringing to the table in term of creamy concoctions.
Products coming and going is an unfortunate reality in the food biz, and ice cream is not exempt. For instance, Häagen-Dazs once discontinued a beloved (but not exactly high-sales) Black Walnut flavor. Sometimes, it's simply a case of out with the old and in with the new in an attempt to keep consumers interested. The final production date for the Halo Top products being sunsetted has not yet been announced. In the words of the company themselves, "grab those last bites of these beloved flavors before they melt away, and get ready for what's coming next!"
