McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meals Have Arrived. Here Are The Toys You Can Catch

McDonald's has been offering extra treats like a revived McRib ever since its E. coli outbreak last year, and thankfully, it hasn't forgotten about its younger fans. Beginning January 21, the Golden Arches will be offering Pokémon Happy Meals nationwide for a limited time. The colorful Happy Meal boxes will feature four distinct dragon-type Pokémon designs, including Rayquaza, Charizard, Roaring Moon, and one with Dragonite in the foreground and a cheeky Pikachu popping up behind. Still, it is the loot sitting inside the boxes, next to McDonald's chicken nuggets, that make this limited-time release so appealing.

Naturally, each Happy Meal contains a variety of Pokémon toys. Fans of the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) will have a chance to augment their collection with a booster pack of four cards. There is also a Pokémon poster in the Happy Meal that comes with stickers so kiddos can decorate it after finishing their meal. A total of 15 cards are available, so you will have to make a few extra trips to McDonald's soon if you want to collect them all.

Fans of the Pokémon TCG Pocket app are in store for even more good news at McDonald's this winter. Every Happy Meal purchased through the McDonald's app will give customers a free in-game bonus in the form of a one-time redeemable code. Two digital booster packs and one random digital card via the Wonder Pick feature can be opened using the 24 pack hourglasses and 12 wonder hourglasses you get from that code.

Some McDonald's locations will also be available for customers to take part in the Pokémon GO activation that began last December in the United States. Pokémon GO players have a chance to visit participating McDonald's locations to encounter Pokémon attracted by active Lure Modules and participate in five-star raids at McDonald's Gyms. These events only occur during specific weeks, which include January 20 to January 26, February 10 to February 16, and March 10 to March 16.
