Budweiser's 2025 Super Bowl Teaser Is Kind Of Adorable

Budweiser's recent Super Bowl LIX teaser reminds us of its cherished tradition of featuring the brand's famous Clydesdales. The 15-second teaser shared on X by Budweiser USA opens with two of the now-classic beer hauling horses wearing bridles with red and white flowers adorning their manes. The camera steadily pans past the two equines onto the ears of an endearing brown foal. Above the foal the words "COMING SUPER BOWL LIX" flash momentarily on screen before they are replaced by the Budweiser logo.

Could this new smaller horse be indicative of a new generation of Budweiser? With its current market of consumers who are 50 or older, Budweiser has been kicking its advertising into high gear in recent years. The intent? To connect with millennial and Gen Z drinkers through humor, nostalgia, and relevance. With studies showing that around half of all millennials have never tried Budweiser and Gen Z consuming alcohol at considerably lower rates than previous generations, perhaps cute animals will help bring in the 21 to 40 crowd. Just last year, Michel Doukeris, the CEO of Budweiser's parent company Anheuser-Busch, told a seminar crowd that his companies are focusing on alcohol-free concoctions to appeal to younger, sober-curious Americans (via Fortune).

Clydesdales have become iconic in Budweiser's Super Bowl commercials

Getting back to the horses, Budweiser's heartwarming and nostalgic imagery featuring glossy manes and lively whinnies is reminiscent of the domestic beer's previous Super Bowl advertisements. In 1975, Budweiser first featured its iconic Clydesdales in a Super Bowl commercial. While some of its beer might have been discontinued over the years, Budweiser's strapping Clydesdales stand strong, having been included in numerous commercials over the years, including a recent Super Bowl ad in 2024. Perhaps its most popular Budweiser Super Bowl commercial of late debuted in 2014. Titled "Puppy Love," the spot tells the story of two best buds (pun intended): a beautiful Clydesdale and a sweet yellow Labrador retriever puppy.

If you want to see the cuteness in person, you can actually visit the Budweiser Clydesdales at St Louis' Anheuser-Busch Brewery or the Warm Springs Ranch in Boonvile, Missouri for a more organic viewing experience. While there, you should also take the time to sample a few rounds of Budweiser or grab a six-pack to bring home. And if you've got any leftover brew, it turns out that beer makes for a surprisingly handy baking ingredient.
