A Cherished McDonald's Pie Is Returning To Menus

Apparently, McDonald's got its boardroom together and decided that 2025 was going to be the year that they gave customers everything that they want. How else can you explain the fact that the beloved Snack Wrap is making its triumphant return? We should have known amazing things were coming when the McRib came back on Santa's sleigh for the holidays. And now, less than a week into the new year, McDonald's has decided to surprise-drop the return of the much-longed-for Strawberry & Crème Pie.

News broke on Instagram, where Markie Devo, a fast food content creator, spilled the tea that Holiday Pies were now a thing of the past at McDonald's (probably until late this year), and that menus in several states had been blessed with Strawberry & Crème Pies, which will be available at select locations for a limited time. The pies, which feature "strawberries and vanilla flavored crème, baked side by side in a sugar-coated flaky crust," per McDonald's website, are not only visually perfect for Valentine's Day but are also sure to delight fans of the Golden Arches bored with the standard apple pies that are available year-round.

McDonald's Strawberry & Crème Pies were last seen in January 2024, following the Holiday Pie in the burger giant's seasonal pie lineup. Fans responded with fervor. On Reddit, one commenter dubbed the strawberry hand pies "the only fast food dessert I like." "Why don't they just add it permanently to the menu?!" another Redditor lamented. 

Even celebrities include seasonal pies as part of their favorite McDonald's orders. In addition to Strawberry & Crème and the aforementioned Holiday Pie, the annual rotation generally includes cherry, lemon, pumpkin, and Oreo. Some pies, like Blueberries & Crème and taro, are regional. 

McDonald's rolled out its perennial apple pies in 1968, which was the same year that the Big Mac was born. Since then, the chain has played around with many permutations of its handheld desserts. One thing is for sure: If you like a seasonal pie, you'd better enjoy it while the getting is good. Historically, McDonald's is liable to yank the limited-time pies off the menu with zero warning, leaving you crying into your Happy Meal and dreaming about sweets gone by.
