What Restaurants Are Open On The Fourth Of July?

As the Fourth of July approaches, many are gearing up for an exciting day of fireworks and parades to celebrate America's birthday, not to mention chowing down on freshly grilled hamburgers and hot dogs at a festive barbecue. Cooking up a storm on the grill is a time-honored Independence Day tradition, and some folks can't imagine commemorating the holiday any other way than by feasting with friends and family at a picnic table draped in red, white, and blue.

Sometimes, however, the weather doesn't care what your intentions are and ruins your best-laid plans. Other times, the thought of the effort it takes to make something special for a July 4 crowd can dissuade you from firing up the grill. Thankfully, if your picnic gets rained out or you just don't want to be preparing food all day in the sweltering heat, there are plenty of dining establishments that will be accommodating folks who want to celebrate the Fourth of July in style as America turns 248 years young.

Fast food holiday-themed BOGOs

Even if you're hosting a barbecue on the Fourth of July, you'll need some fuel to keep you going throughout the day. Not only is Dunkin' open on the holiday but it'll be offering $3 medium SPARKD' Energy drinks to Dunkin' reward members every single day in July while supplies last. It's a patriotic way to celebrate the fourth considering America runs on Dunkin'.

Fast-food sandwich chain Jimmy John's will also be open to serve hungry customers on July 4, but they also have some exciting new menu options for patrons to try — and one of those items will feature a BOGO deal on the big day. Fitting in perfectly with the Independence Day theme, JJ's new Firecracker Wrap features spicy ghost pepper cheese and Firecracker Jimmy Chips wrapped inside a bright red jalapeño tortilla. Jimmy John's is offering Freaky Fast Reward Members two of these tasty meals for the price of one.

White Castle is also giving customers who come in between July 4 and July 7 a BOGO deal on any individual combo meal. Anyone eating out on holiday can take advantage of the buy-one-get-one promotion by accessing a coupon on the restaurant's website or through official social media channels. The giveaway works for breakfast items and regular menu items, so people who want a quick bite early in the day can still access the giveaway.

Independence Day deals in budget casual

If you're looking for a lively Fourth of July experience indoors, Dave & Buster's will be open on Independence Day and offering $5 happy hour specials. A $5 margarita could be just what you're looking for to get in the mood for fireworks later into the evening, but if you stick around even later, the adult gaming destination will be offering 50% off late-night fare after 9 PM. From June 28 to July 7, Dave & Buster's will also be giving away 100 free Game Chips with the purchase of 100 Game chips, lending those who want to shoot pool entering virtual reality a perfect opportunity to play twice as long for free.

Red Robin will be open on the Fourth and they are featuring a holiday-themed beverage for the occasion. The red, white, and blue Star-Spangled Spritzer — made with wild raspberry flavor and Sprite topped with blue cotton candy — is served in a light-up container customers can take home with them. It's the perfect accompaniment to RR's colossal new burger that weighs as much as an Olympic gold medal.

Chili's Grill and Bar will be operating July 4 during normal business hours and serving up its new Big Smasher Burger. If you're looking for something a little closer to barbecued food, the classic Baby Back Ribs are still a menu staple. Go with friends or bring along the family and pepper in some fun as you celebrate the Fourth of July.

Sit down restaurants open on July 4

There might not be anything more American than watching America's favorite pastime on the Fourth of July. If you can't attend a game in person, casual dining sports bar Buffalo Wild Wings has you covered as they will be open during regular business hours. With July 4 falling on a Thursday this year, customers wanting to see the Mets face-off against the Nationals will have the opportunity to get in on the weekly BOGO deal on wings while watching the game at B-Dubs.

If pizza is more to your liking while observing Independence Day, Marco's Pizza will be open and helping customers quench their thirst. When ordering a large Fiery Pizza and Cheezybread customers can use promo code FREESTARRY to receive a free two-liter bottle of Starry soda. The pizza chain is also featuring $5.99 Pizzolis on the holiday, and they keep the festive vibes going into the next week with 30% off menu priced pizzas from July 8 through July 13.

For folks with a sweet tooth in need of attention on the Fourth of July, The Cheesecake Factory will be operating under normal business hours from 11 AM to 11 PM. With over 250 menu items to choose from, everyone should be able to get exactly what they want as they celebrate Independence Day. In the spirit of patriotism, Cheesecake Factory will be donating $0.25 to Feeding America from every slice of Cookie Dough Lover's Cheesecake with Pecans ordered through July 29.

Upscale dinner services for Fourth of July

July 4 is often associated with a buttoned-down, casual eating experience, but if you're looking to class it up this Fourth of July, Eddie V's Prime Seafood will be open for its evening dinner service. While emblematic of a July 4 celebration, the classic combination of grilled burgers and dogs isn't for everyone. Nothing contrasts with a traditional Independence Day spread quite like an upscale culinary experience featuring menu items such as expertly cooked Chilean Sea Bass or South African Lobster paired with an extensive selection of wines from around the world. Though not required, securing your space ahead of time is one of the things you should do when visiting a fine dining restaurant — especially on holidays — and reservations are strongly recommended.

If seafood strays too far from the July 4 spreads that you're familiar with but you still want an upscale experience, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar might be right up your alley. The establishment will be open for normal lunch and dinner services from 11 AM to 10 PM offering its iconic Prime Tomahawk steaks as well as all its other menu choices. For those that want a taste of land and sea, they will also be serving an elevated surf & turf featuring Crab-Stuffed Lobster and a hand cut Filet Mignon.

What ISN'T open?

Unfortunately, not every business stays open for the Fourth of July, and if you are planning on grabbing one of Costco's famous rotisserie chickens on the big day, you will be sadly disappointed. Costco and its food court will be closed on July 4 in recognition of the national holiday. The members-only store is always closed on major federal holidays such as Memorial Day and Labor Day, and they have announced they intend to continue this custom on Independence Day this year.

Customers are encouraged to fill up on necessities in advance and make arrangements to eat elsewhere on Thursday the Fourth. This sadly means if you had your heart set on a Fourth of July hot dog and soda combo for $1.50, you'll have to search for another establishment that offers such an inflation-defiant deal. The wholesale supplier will be open the next day to supply hungry shoppers with some of the best food deals money can buy, but on the big day, you may just have to fire up the grill if you have a hankering for a hot dog.
