Aldi Offers 25% Off Super Bowl Staples Ahead Of The Big Day
With holiday season leftovers barely finished, it's time to start stocking up for the smorgasbord of finger food essentials for Super Bowl Sunday. Hosting a viewing party just got a lot easier on your pocketbook thanks to grocery chain Aldi's clever, partly self-referential slogan, "Winning Quarter Back" discounts that offer 25% off on game-day staples. Chips, dips, pizza, and meatballs are among the bestselling appetizers that will be on sale, lowering the grocer's already competitive prices even further.
As Scott Patton, Vice President of National Buying at Aldi, put it in a recent press release — "Just like a quarterback leads their team, ALDI is championing shoppers by reducing our already low prices on the most popular Big Game foods." The offer runs from the end of January until just after match day, giving you plenty of time to stock up. It's an excellent time to make the most of these price cuts and host a few more get-togethers to help bear the winter season. Though most Aldi outlets have a pretty good selection of products, know that the availability and prices of discounted items may vary from one Aldi store to another.
Aldi's Winning Quarter Back discount is playful and effective
From January 31 till February 13 — which happens to be two days after Super Bowl Sunday, in case you're taping it — Aldi will run its aptly named "Winning Quarter Back" discount. This 25% discount on the most popular match-day food items is not the first time Aldi got into the Super Bowl spirit. The chain introduced a football-shaped pizza for the 2023 Super Bowl, complete with white cheddar stitching on the edible pigskin. There doesn't seem to be a football pizza this year, but you can grab some of Mama Cozzi's Take and Bake pizzas at discounted prices at select stores.
Though a complete list of bargain items is not available, Aldi's press release did list several best sellers along with their regular and discounted prices. Clancy's Cheese Melt nacho dip is now $3.69 from its original $4.49, Casa Mamita Salsa is $1.69 instead of the usual $2.29, and Park Street Deli guacamole and 4-flavor Hummus Quartet are each down to $3.29 from $4.49.
And that Mama Cozzi pizza we mentioned? You can get a 16-inch 5-cheese pie for $4.59 instead of $6.15. Bremer's Original and Italian Meatballs — both great in a sweet and sour sauce — are also available at a lower price of $4.49 instead of the usual $5.99. And for discounted crunchy munchies, grab a bag of Season's Choice Potato Puffs for $2.29 (80 cents cheaper than the regular retail price) and Clancy's Wavy Potato Chips for $1.59, cut down from $2.19.
Make an exciting party menu with discounted match day favorites from Aldi
Of course, there will probably be many more match-day favorites that'll be available at 25% off, so the best way to make the most of the discount is to head to an Aldi outlet and create your game-day snack menu on the fly. With the variety of dips on discount, making a mix-and-match dipping tray with salsa, cheese melt, and guacamole served alongside chips and potato puffs is a great way to start. A crudité platter with hummus, spinach, and jalapeno artichoke dips will go down well with those who prefer healthier snacks.
And when you really want to get things going, bring out the warm snacks. The take-and-bake pizza, of course, is a great option that just needs a couple of minutes in a preheated oven. Another trick is to microwave a batch of Bremer Italian Meatballs and serve them alongside a marinara dipping sauce. These ideas are just to get things started, and with the large selection of discounted apps and snacks, you'll find several ways to make an exciting party menu for match day. As long as you know what to pick up and what to avoid at Aldi, you'll come away a winner, irrespective of which team is crowned victorious at Super Bowl LVIII.
